As I change from winter in the Alpine snow to spring in the Uk it gives me a chance to experience things anew. I see the lush greenness of the fresh leaves, hear the orchestra of birdsong, smell flower-dust... And I wonder at the beauty and joy of it all as though for the first time... like a child.
All too soon the newness wears off. I find myself taking it all for granted... I wish I could still see with "new eyes".
Where has the newness gone?
