A fun adventure day out under a hazy snow-baked sun with lovely friends Lou, Jill and Alex... We climbed for three hours on skis up through the beautiful Gorges De Malpasset east of Val D'Isere (French Alps) until we reached the deserted Refuge De Prariond.

We were mindful of news of imbalance happening on our Earth. The Arctic alarmingly warm - 20C degrees up on expectations - unprecedented!! This appears to be effecting the polar vortex winds, causing rare extreme cold conditions in the UK and other parts of Europe. Here above Tignes we had been experiencing wind-chill temps of minus 35C!

12 years ago when I was heading to the Magnetic North Pole from Resolute Bay on the North West Passage the local Inuits were agitated that temps were 10 degrees warmer than average which meant the Bay was late freezing over, meaning no seals, meaning rampaging polar bears.... This was then one of the Global Warming front lines! Have we done anything positive about Climate Change since?

Are we listening to the cries of our Earth?

What can we as individuals do? One answer is with our thoughts and focus, holding respect for the planet on which we depend...

At the Refuge we sat for a moment of stillness sending balance and love to our Earth

A moment of stillness...
